The official Australian Olympics opening ceremony uniform has been revealed

The sharp outfits our Australian athletes will be sporting in just 100 days.

With just 100 days until the 2024 Paris Olympics kicks off, Australian Olympic hopefuls now officially know what they’ll be sporting for the opening ceremony for the games in July. On Wednesday morning in Clovelly, Sportscraft and Volley unveiled the smart and stylish Olympic uniforms that team Australia will march in for the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony.

The sharp outfits were modelled by Torrie Lewis, Matildas sensation Michelle Heyman, online personality and water polo champ Tilly Kearns, Mariafe Artacho del Solar, Georgia Godwin, Tom Green, Nick Malouf, Blake Edwards and Jeff Dunne.

The women’s uniform features a smart pleated skirt with gradient hue of the classic Australian green and gold. The pleated skirt is said to be an homage to Sportscraft’s 100-year heritage where its founder, Wolf Bardas brought one of the first pleating machines to Australia from Russia.

The official uniforms will also include teal-hued linen jackets. As well as looking sharp, for the first time in our Olympic history, the jackets are loaded with a litany of nods to Australian athletes and culture. Moreover, the jackets will feature the Australian Olympians’ Oath inside the jacket pocket. Similarly, the names of all 300 Australian Olympic champions will feature on the lining of the jackets.

Sportscraft have also designed the pocket squares and scarfs to include Indigenous artwork called ‘Walking Together’ by Olympic boxer Paul Fleming.

“Wearing an Australian Olympic Opening Ceremony uniform is a rare and special moment,” said chef de mission Anna Meares, whose name is one of the 300 that appear on the jacket lining.

“I have had the honour of receiving four Australian Olympic Team ceremony uniforms and I treasure each one. For Olympians, it brings us together, from different sports, backgrounds and experiences, proudly uniting us through that team uniform

“I love that the Olympians’ Oath will sit on the inside lining at heart level, with the support of all Australia’s Olympic champions throughout history wrapping around each of our team members for Paris.”
