Lauren Ralph Lauren is taking on the classics

For our May fashion shoot, we worked exclusively with Lauren Ralph Lauren to create a timeless shoot that feels thoroughly modern.

Founded in 1996, Lauren Ralph Lauren has always had a nod to its parent company’s American heritage and equestrian sensibility. Sportswear and active wear are amongst its key pillars along with classic denim, feminine dresses and much more.

And when The Weekly received the Autumn collection for a sneak peek, we were immediately inspired and quickly paid homage to timeless separates in tweed, plaid, fair isle knits and mixed florals that Lauren Ralph Lauren is known for, whilst putting our twist to create looks for the Women’s Weekly reader for cooler days ahead.

A glorious mix of luxurious textures fit for a seasoned traveller, the global traveller – a classic Lauren muse – is front and centre. With the collection we are taken on a global journey starting in Jodphur, India, continuing north to the English countryside, across the Pacific to upstate New York and finally landing in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, where The Weekly team put together an edit of some of their favourites, with a shoot at Old Oak Stables for our May issue.

The first, Lizzy, is an Australian ex pat who for more than a decade has called New York home (but who we caught on a fleeting visit back to our shores). The second, Cece, is a Brit who lives between Sydney and the UK. And lastly, Charly Blue is a statuesque gelding hailing originally from Belgium but who now calls Australia home.
