Anticipation for the dress Margot Robbie would wear to the 2024 Oscars was high.
For the last year, we’ve been treated to numerous red carpet looks inspired by classic Barbie dolls and considering that the Barbie film was nominated at this year’s Oscars, the most prestigious awards ceremony in Hollywood, so we all thought Margot would treat us to the best Barbie look yet.
But now that the Oscars have officially ended for this year, it looks like Margot didn’t wear a Barbie-inspired ensemble at all. She instead opted for a simple black strapless gown.
Of course, she still looked fabulous! So much so, that we decided to look back at every time Margot’s been nominated for an Oscar and her best Oscars red carpet looks from previous years.
Was Margot Robbie nominated for an Oscar for Barbie?
Yes and no. Margot was not nominated for Best Actress for her performance as the titular character in Barbie. However, the film was nominated for Best Picture and as Margot produced the film, she would’ve won an Oscar if Barbie had won Best Picture (the award ultimately went to Oppenheimer).
How many Oscars does Margot Robbie have?
Currently, Margot doesn’t have any Oscars. She has been nominated three times though. She was nominated for Best Actress for I, Tonya in 2018, Best Supporting Actress for Bombshell in 2020 and, as mentioned above, Best Picture for Barbie in 2024.
