Is there going to be a Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building?
Yes! It was first confirmed in October 2023 that OMITB would get a fourth season.
Plus, we know that there will be a little change of scenery for part of Season 4…
Craig Erwich, Disney Television Group President, spoke to Deadline in February 2024 and shared that our favourite trio will abandon New York and The Arconia and head to California in Season 4.
“I’m very excited to see Steve, Martin and Selena take a little break from the apartment building and come to Los Angeles,” he said.
“So in the same way that [series co-creator] John Hoffman used the canvas of Broadway to tell what I think was one of the most unique seasons you’ve ever seen, the same unique Only Murders take will be applied to Los Angeles.”
The new setting for Season 4 makes sense considering at the end of Season 3, Selena’s Mabel Mora was asked to accompany her boyfriend Tobert to LA.
Plus, Martin’s Oliver Putnam encouraged his love interest Loretta Durkin (played by the iconic Meryl Streep) to take a job in LA; we’ll likely see Oliver visit Loretta while the trio’s there in Season 4…
Is there a Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building cast?
Obviously, the series regulars – Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez – have been confirmed for the cast for Only Murders in the Building‘s fourth season.
Meryl Streep is also set to return and will reprise her role as Loretta – who was first introduced in Season 3.
Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Zach Galifianakis, Molly Shannon and Kumail Nanjiani have also been confirmed for Season 4.
Eugene, Eva and Zach will play themselves as the actors hired to portray Charles, Oliver and Mabel in a movie adaptation of their podcast.
The roles Molly and Kumail will play haven’t been disclosed yet.
It’s likely that Jane Lynch will appear in Season 4 too, as the cliffhanger for Season 3 was her character Sazz Pataki dying – and that mystery will surely have to be unravelled in the new season, right? – but nothing’s been confirmed yet.
What is the release date of Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building?
The first episode of Only Murders in the Building Season 4 will be released on August 27!
Then, the remaining nine episodes will be released weekly on Tuesdays.
